An apple a day can do far more than keeping the doctor away. Some of the research indicates that one way to slow down the natural aging process is by eating an apple each day. Apples contain polyphenol antioxidants that can remove toxins from the body. Apples have lots of fiber and vitamins too.
The overall success though of eating an apple a day as part of your anti-aging regiment aren’t fully known though. The testing that has been done hasn’t involved humans – it was all conducted with fruit flies. However, there is no reason to doubt that the polyphenol antioxidants will reduce free radicals and that is an important element if you want to naturally slow down the aging process.
A healthy diet has always been a big part of remaining younger looking. For example, carrots contain high amounts of carotenoids in them. Individuals that consume them regularly may live longer and also be healthier. This is also due to the many antioxidants found in carrots. Eating foods that have lots of fiber is also good for the skin.
Studies have found foods that contain Vitamins C and E are going to reduce the damages that free radicals can do to the skin. Try to consume foods that also have lots of selenium in them. This can include vegetable oil, wheat germ, and sunflower seeds. For more Vitamin C consider adding strawberries and tomatoes to your diet. Whole grains and seafood offer you the additional selenium.
When you eat a well-balanced diet with lots of fiber, you reduce your risk of various health problems as you get older. This includes diabetes and cholesterol. Make sure you also consume plenty of water on a daily basis. Take part in daily exercise when possible, but at least three times per week to keep your body moving. Adding apples to your daily intake certainly can’t hurt either to slow down the aging process.
